Where I Should Begin From Poem by Abdul Wahab

Where I Should Begin From

Rating: 5.0

Where I should begin from
You see, all events and ideas are connected
And move in a shape called circle
Yet I would have started taking it as an absolute entity
But alas! There is an existence, too, of a shape which refuses to take
Its description like the way you give to a shape called round
Nullifying my attempt to take the shape ‘’circle ‘’as a beginning unit
To weigh and measure the entity hidden behind the mystery of this universe
And forever remove the pang of unknown and fear of the darkness
But in a circle as you do not find any beginning or end
In the same way in this world I do not find any ideas or events
Which are isolated or do not move in round
Then how will I know where had I started from
Where will I end?

Is this not a trick played by some one
And we are all caught in a trap in which an opening is never made?
In between the unknown and darkness
Is it like this that we have to live forever
For us an absolute emancipation from pang and fear is impossible?

As every thing, the world, the seasons, the time, birth and death... all move in cyclic motion, we do not know from where to start and where to end! A complex phenomenon expressed through a very expressive metaphor! !

The problems of bigin and end, birth and death, dispair and happiness all keep rolling. A circle as you defined seems to fulfil all. Maybe not knowing somethings makes life interesting. Thank you for a thought provoking poem which is beautiful.
