Where Those Limitations Are Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Where Those Limitations Are

Why have you encased your feet,
In cement?

'I want to feel what it is like to run.'

But...
Wouldn't that now be impossible?

'For who?
You?
Or me? '

Well...
From my point of view,
What you attempt to do...
Is an impossibility.

'That's why I chose to encase 'my' feet,
In cement.
To prove to 'myself'...
Where those limitations are.'

I would not have done anything like that.

'And once again...
Whose dream is this? '
