Whispering Love
Did the sweet nothings mean naught to you?
I waited un-satiated, infatuated - by the gate.
I cried unending tears, and breathless race up the mountain top
To see, if I could glimpse your tall shadow,
O’er the horizon.
Whispering Love
Did the sweet kisses linger to wet your hungry lips?
Just to quench your thirst?
I’m left searching for your fingers tangled in my hair,
To trace and cool the burns
You left on my half opened lips.
I sprint to the waterfall and rinse my face,
To sense the tingling of your mouth on mine.
Whispering Love
Did you embrace my grace to consume, to luxuriate?
I quest for those arms; and only cobwebs swathe my very being.
I plod to the river beds searching for that yawning testimony;
Where our bodies coupled as one;
To conceive what I thought was mine.
Whispering Love
Now the mocking bird laughs at my plight.
The Weeping Willows accompany my cries.
You left behind a love bird with its feathers clipped.
I try to fly to the tip of the Redwood tree;
To see your fluttering wings soar towards me.
O Whispering Love!
I cannot sleep, I cannot breathe I cannot cry no more.
Now my songs are heard by Guardian Angels,
Who keep watch over my noble spirit.
And wait to consecrate
The tiny seed in my womb, you forgot to take with you.
Whispering Love Did the sweet kisses linger to wet your hungry lips? Just to quench your thirst? I’m left searching for your fingers tangled in my hair, To trace and cool the burns You left on my half opened lips. this is really beautiful Roopa. magical and so passionate, . you have really experienced love. i read it in your lines. Awesome write....the love crazed search for whispering love
whispering echoes in the womb and embrace it in the pool of love
What a beautiful way of whispering a poem out and then to reveal the truth in the last line of it. This is just great. Top marks (10) .
