Who am I?
And who are you?
And why does it matter?
Why do we have to think?
And oh, why can’t we just live?
And if we did, why would it matter?
Why should we wait, when waiting is so hard?
Why not be impulsive, when it would be so easy?
Why should we care what others have to say about it?
Isn’t this a good thing, good right now, for us to enjoy?
But no, because I care about you, still more than all of that.
I care about you now, and later, whether or not this lasts.
I can’t imagine hurting you still more, after all of that.
This could be good, but I want better—no, best.
We will not settle with anything less than that.
Not for me; I don’t want any reservations.
Nor you; not you, above all others!
Take time; don’t rush into regrets.
Think through; why, why not?
And ask, oh, ask:
Who is He?
Love the look of this poem to start with..... and the write is good too.... Alison
