Who Is The True Friend? Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Who Is The True Friend?

A true friend will tell you frankly
Your ways you need to mend,
Helps correct your poetry
Without meaning to offend.

A true friend wants the good
In you to come out really clean
Though often misunderstood
And labeled to be mean.

A true friend will frankly say
Your verbs do not agree
Prepositions are just wrong
And mass nouns can't be three.

She likes for you to grow, succeed
Learn in the end, Perfection.
But then the road always leads
To a rough path of Correction.

And so you think that those around
Are 'friends' who feed you flattery,
What goes around, comes around
In the end, you'll write erroneously.

A friend in need is a friend indeed. A good friend is almost the equal of a happy family. A good friend can correct you anytime without hurting your feelings. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
