Who Knew This? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Who Knew This?

You helped build up my life.
To see dawn,
From tops of mountains.
To adopt without doubt...
What is mine and belongs.

My life!
And all there is about it.

You helped build up my life.
Yes.
And to see dawn.
To fly high like an Eagle!
With a might ignited within me so strong.

Who knew this?
That you would be allowed to bring out the best in me,
To see.
Who knew this?
Not me!
That you would bring out my best.

Who knew this?
That you would be allowed to bring out the best in me,
To see.
Who knew this?
Not me!
That you would bring out my best.

You helped build up my life.
My life!
And all there is about it.
To fly high like an Eagle!
With a might ignited within me so strong.

Who knew this?
That you would be allowed to bring out the best in me,
To see.
Who knew this?
Not me!
That you would bring out my best.

You helped build up my life.
To see dawn,
From tops of mountains.
To adopt without doubt...
What is mine and belongs.
With a might ignited within me so strong.

Who knew this?
Not me!
That you would bring out my best.
That you would and could,
Separate me from the rest!

Who knew this?
