Why Am I A Poet Poem by Randy McClave

Why Am I A Poet

Why am I a poet
Why do I enjoy to write and show it,
And why do I enjoy using an occasional colorful word
Which many have never used or ever heard.
Why do I enjoy to write on my pad
Both, when I am happy and also when I am sad,
And why am I sometimes so very descriptive
And never ever predictive.
I love to paint beauty with my pen as I write
Emotions of beauty I want to incite,
I want to show the beauty of God's beautiful flowers
And the pounding and glistening rain of his heaven sent showers.
I wish for everyone to know it.
The true reason why I became a poet,
It's not because I know and use words like ain't
It's all because, I can't paint.
