Why Don't You Stay? Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Why Don't You Stay?

In the endless hours,
When the sun has gone,
Thoughts of you devour my mind.
I'm floating in a deep abyss,
Of many moments left behind.
Gentle whispers in the breeze,
Take me to your arms again,
Fragments of a broken heart,
Combine to make me whole and then,
I see your face appear to me,
As if you'd never gone away,
The one so very dear to me,
Don't leave me now,
Why don't you stay?
