Why Few Things Please Us More Than Lies-Ii Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Why Few Things Please Us More Than Lies-Ii

Rating: 5.0

Men stay married for the same odd reason,
More of commerce moves by the myth of lie,
More nations friends are, for, truths buried, die,
Untruth blossoms whatso be the season.

And cruellest lies are in silence said,
He who said that may have reason to say,
But lies do get eloquent by the day,
It is the truth that suffers when muted.

And in a warm company of white lies,
Post truth, by half of its lofty measure,
Gets treated today like a rare treasure,
Couched in courteous décor, it is on rise.

Yea, lies help nations from abyss of war,
We glibly admire liars that can dare,
And detest those that a bare truth declare,
Suave, subtle lies are foes today no more.

To stick to truth is to lose hard earned lead,
Cosy rests the sin on a pedestal,
And lie maketh a handle that fits all,
Do dare to lie then; there's no truth in creed,

Go ahead; telling truth any fool can,
Managing untruth well makes today's man,
Those that can't line-behind, are also-ran
On dunghills, crackling like helpless hen.

It's old fashioned to think lies live no long,
We need re-learn: lies would live to be old;
For, today's truth is: old age makes lies bold;
In ripe old age I'm learning a new song.

So sad, I had replied to all yr queries, all of six, and my replies were wiped out. I can only blame my bad luck, what else? If you are particular I'll try later to answer, today I'm washed out.
