Why We Kill Each Other

Where discord reigns and hope departs,
A question haunts our troubled minds,
Why do we turn to violence blinds?

In lands once bathed in nature's grace,
Where harmony adorned each space,
Now tainted by a bitter tide,
That swells with malice, deep inside.

Is it greed that drives our souls astray?
A hunger for power, come what may?
Or fear that grips our trembling hearts,
Fanning flames where understanding departs?

We wage our wars, we draw the lines,
With blood-soaked hands and twisted minds,
But beneath it all, there lies a plea,
To grasp the truth, to set us free.

For in the midst of this endless strife,
Lies a quest to reclaim our shared life,
To rise above the primal urge,
And seek the path where love can surge.

For in our souls, a light still gleams,
A glimmer of hope, beyond extremes,
To find compassion, bridge the divide,
And heal the wounds we cannot hide.

Let's listen, then, to our conscience's call,
And build a world where peace stands tall,
For in the end, we're bound as one,
United in a journey not yet done.
