Wildwood # 2

Someone else died the other night, there's a ghost in my room.
Of course the homeless stream in and out of Wildwood, most stay
Right up untill they have to leave,
Some pay the exorbitant rent the majority leave to spend their check's
On drugs.
Sarah wanders in and out it is difficult keeping track of her, one so
Young, it is sad, it's said that if she continues to wander off that she will be
Sent to the state hospital where over seventy six thousand human beings
Have died since it opened just after the war between the states.
She reminds me of Karen Carpender that's if she lives that long.

American Civil War: April 1861 - May 1865 my math: (roughly) 150 years divided by 76,000 = (about) 55/year? where is my paper and pencil? Oops! ! 76,000 deaths divided by 150 years = 507+ deaths per year. i don't know if that 'should' be considered a lot of deaths for the situation. (cont.)

(cont.) Carpenter, not Carpender, but i don't always spell my name, Brian, correctly either, at least not on the computer! ! i usually spell it Brain, and THAT'S NO LIE! ! Karen Carpenter, a singer who long suffered under the burden of the expectations that came with pop stardom, died on this day in 1983, succumbing to heart failure brought on by her long, unpublicized struggle with anorexia. (cont.) [from Google]: Wildwood Homeless Shelters & Services For The Needy..serving people in Wildwood Florida and 'surrounding' cities'. i guess we have our share of 'homeless/needy' people in northern California as well. my neighbors found a makeshift bed in their garage last year; my friends use their garage, as MANY Americans do, for storage of 'stuff'', not vehicles! !
