Wings (If I Were A Bird...) Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Wings (If I Were A Bird...)

Rating: 5.0

If I were a bird I would fly
Off into infinity...
And of man have no fear
or need
Nor yearning...
And of God
No plea for eternity!

Dorothy-wonderful poem. I have often wished the same. Your last two lines are very deep. I would say great, and quotable! My mother used to sing a little song called Little Sparrow-'I wish I were a little sparrow, and I had wings and I could fly'. Really enjoyed your poem. Kate

Two thumbs up. Just like what Jenny said in the movie 'Forrest Gump'.
