Winter Dreams Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Winter Dreams

Rating: 5.0

In the blistering winter wind,
The snow covers the grass.
How I long for spring to arrive,
Watching the weather through the window.
I cannot bear the bleakness of the day,
And the coolness of the night
Stops the stars from shining,
Although, the moon is brightly lit
The icy gale haunts it,
As it becomes unnerving.
The clouds move towards the moon.
As the world is put into darkness
I dream of the lightness of a summer night
And us, waltzing through it
Until the sultry evening ends
And the morning light shines

I, too, am tired of winter. Spring can't get here any too soon!
