Wise Owl Poem by Micron

Wise Owl

No one can avoid your eyes of shining gold
Staring straight ahead much they've behold
Your hypnotic bright eyes glowing in the night
Nothing in the past or future escapes your sight
A ghostly glowing shimmering statue on your perch
Framed within the silhouetted gnarled silver birch
Wise, strong, silent, listening, you stand erect
Everything that happens you know and detect
Just like the wind whispering through the trees
Ancient tales, stories you send through the breeze
Solving mysteries, and tales of heroes long ago
Much wisdom, facts, history, truth you know
Hooting into the dark night you send a gentle call
A fragment of your wisdom imparted to us all
A few may hear stirred from their deep sleep
A little of your knowledge, wisdom they may reap
Sadly many your message will still ignore
Even though the old wise owl did them call

it is sad that you are right, some times we wish we were. But the owl is a reminder of us being squandered...iip
