Wishing Poem by David Harris

Wishing

Rating: 5.0

Across the skies at night,
streaks the wishing stars
as the heavens open up
revealing their vast glory
with twinkling stars bright.
Here we stand mere mortals
wishing our dreams to come true
as each star across the cosmos
plays an absent melody.
We stand shoulder to shoulder
just my love and I
wishing on every star
that passes in the sky.
Wishing for all the things
we may never have,
but wishing most of all
for our love to remain true.

What a beautiful poem; almost a song. I think of all the amazing things in the world, I would most miss stars, if there weren't any overhead. They make the darkness so familiar and full of wonder..thanks.
