With Kept Vision Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

With Kept Vision

Your dreams to wish,
May for others seem ridiculous.
Not to know you at all.
Or how much what is wished wanted.
As you keep it desired.
From Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

"What a waste of talent."

No one who encourages,
Would use words like this.
Observing to describe another.
Unless overheard evaluating,
Their own lack of incentive.

Stopping to listen to doom prophets,
Awaiting for 'their' final days...
To come to an end.
Should provide added fuel,
To 'your' motivation.
With kept vision and discipline.
Done to realize without these 'ingredients',
No one gets what is wanted to wish...
On the hope someone approves,
On the best and correct way to do it.

You might have to flip burgers.
Sweep a floor.
Pick up trash to walk to a dumpster.
Wash dishes and hear folks laugh.
Thinking you to be the fool.
With kept vision and discipline,
Only you know what you must do...
To make what is wished to want,
True for yourself.
