With Peter Pan Poem by Randy McClave

With Peter Pan

Rating: 5.0

I wish that I could fly with Peter Pan
But, I can't because I am now a man,
I have chores to do and more bills to pay
Oh how I wish that I could just fly away.
I want to be, and feel young once again
And not walk in the footsteps of other men,
I took it with a great sadness and a hurtful insult
That one day, when I became an adult.
Second star to the right, and straight on until morning
I wish that I could give out that timely warning,
Then with that one last found good thought I could fly
In the air I would feel the relief, and then I'd sigh.
No more headaches or worries for me to dread
I would happily fly strait up ahead,
With no more wife or child to worry about
Finally, it will be all about me, I would gladly shout.
My worries and my stress should all be done
Now, I just want to play games and have some fun,
Lonely and depressed, I watch the birds in the air
How I wish, that I too was there.
My parents are gone, I'll leave my son behind
Along with my siblings and finally a piece of mind,
Tonight again I will look for that one lone star;
But, sadly I know that it is still too far.
