With Thanks Poem by Colette Dright

With Thanks

Rating: 5.0

The words are many so how do we begin
To express the gratitude and thanks that's within
The work and pressures of everyday life is hard for some to bear
So it's good to have a boss like you, someone who truly cares

Many are hired to work in your store
Some do re-shop, and some mop floors

Some ring up the buy one and get one free
Some put out the milk, some make sandwiches
Some make prescriptions and some turn a key

Some do pricing and some do receiving
Some clean fish, some get the baskets in the lot
Some work self checkout and some bake cakes
Some come each day and give it all they've got

And even over night when the doors are locked
Some fill the shelves with the food they stock

Some count money, some water plants
Some put out fruits, some cut meat too
For everyone here is someone special
With an important job to do

But for you my friend, you inspire us
You work and work and work so hard
And the love we have inside for you
Is part of your reward

So thank you Mr. Brown for the doors you've opened
And all the lives you've touched
And the opportunities you have given to many
That really mean so much

A wonderful and hopeful poem. I did enjoy. Being thankful, a blessing.
