Without Fear Poem by Julia Luber

Without Fear

Strange that those ones that I wrote, in an altered state, while I
was actually writing fiction and in digression would on sudden
shoot out a poem……with no agenda and no plan: strange-they
are actually the best of the bunch of all my poems. Funny, I was
writing fiction and in escape from the real life story of my life.
I was in a fiction, and I suppose in there, I connected with some
rhythm and way of the world that was only poetry which is not
something I actually experience in true life. I don't know what
poetry has been the story of my true life, but certain dynamics
and relationships got so ugly, that I could no longer feel sincere
making the beautiful tones of a flute neither. But when fiction set
the foundation for my life: some altered state gave forth like
an ocean throws its waves-abundantly, without fear.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Contemplating upon why it is that I wrote my best poems seven years ago when I was actually writing a fiction and I would just suddenly digress for a moment into a poem.

Well articulated and nicely brought forth with clarity of thought and mind. An insightful piece of poetry written with conviction. Thanks for sharing, Julia.

Thank you for reading and responding Chinedu. I think some of my better poems are about the experience of writing poems.

The mind has its own thoughts. We share those thoughts through poetry. Some are more in tune than others. Hence Shakespeare.
