Woe For The Forsaken Child Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Woe For The Forsaken Child

Woe for the forsaken child floating off some distant shore
Lost and forlorn among crested waves of a dying sea.
All was blooded before God scattered the first seeds
As he paced the edge of eternity creating universes
Light from darkness, galaxies with trillions of stars
And blue planet inhabited by humans capable of goodness
Defying sin, loving and supporting each other,
Living with truth without lies blistering the tongue.
Forsaken children, heart-broken and weeping in misery
Huddled naked against the cold in broken crumpling homes
Calling out for charity and compassion, help that never comes,
Only terrors of the darkness hailing their final breathe.
Death frees them from their earthy bonds of misery
And God will reclaim lost souls from the Devil.
