Worded Friends? Poem by Sandra Feldman

Worded Friends?

Rating: 5.0

Can I be content
Just with words
Loaned to me,
For a poem to write
And then, to become,
My only friends?
Is that enough
Attention, protection
Against,
Time's revenge?
True,
Words accompany
Thoughts,
But what they,
Can't do
Is take your hand,
Hold you up
When you're feeling
A bit sad,
Or totally lost
And blue,
Give you a tight hug
Just to remind you,
You're still human, too.

So true, dear Sandra. Words are thoughts. Thoughts need hugs, too.
