Work Shy Poem by John Mccudden

Work Shy

Rating: 5.0

Working to live or live to work
Think we all think of this stuff
Throw a sicky or maybe not
Don’t take the chance you will get caught

Get to work early assess the scene
Trouble brewing before you begin
Wish I had taken the day off
Well that is a wish you have not got

Start at eight watching the clock
Going to slow check my watch
It’s now ten time for tea
Wishing it was half past three

Back to work what to do
I know time for another brew
Ask the boss can I get one for you
It’s now eleven I wish it was two

Then with a startle I jump out of bed
It only a dream one I dread
It Sunday morning and the weeks at an end
Wish it was Friday to start over again
