Fate frowns at us— faltering souls for sins
Much as mother may reprimand her child,
Some call it a law of karma that leans,
To others good and bad are views so wild,
That, good is just God's grace personified,
That, God alone can see the whole scene well,
That, man of meagre means aught feel deprived,
A blind as tries a pachyderm to spell.
No evil's all evil; no good all good,
Nor man a fair creation be of His,
Goodness transcends Maya's illusive hood,
Like Him, man's Truth and Awareness and Bliss.
To me this world is good nor yet is bad,
As no man joyous be if never sad.

Good and evil, day and night, pain and pleasure and the like are dancing duals of Maya, the divine illusion. In reality there is only one continuum. We see what happens as divine play seen with the eyes of Maya. This sonnet tries to give an uncomplicated view of the heart.

Illusion or May pulls a person towards greediness, attachment and other evil thoughts. But Goodness transcends Maya's illusive hood. You have rightly said about it in this poem. A beautiful poem on evil and good has been astutely presented here with poet's note. Thank you dear Pathak sir for the sharing of this poem here.10
