You are having a row
with me

but have neglected to
tell me.

Ah so!

There you go
making it up as you go along.

Giving great gusto to your part
& playing my part too.

A monologue
for two.

'I never said that..! ' you say
as if I had said otherwise.

I haven't even opened my mouth.
(except to) (impersonate) (a goldfish) .
'Excuse me...is this a private row
or can I join in two! '

I'm trying to find a place to jump on
but the merry-go-round
of your imagined slights...the feeling that you're impeccably right
is going far too fast
& I am thrown off.

At last you come
to a self satisfied end

leaving me in great doubt

as to just
what it was

I was supposed to be
arguing about!
