***yesterday And Today***(What About Tomorrow?) - Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

The dusty lanes of yesterday
....Have been repaved with Concrete
...Nothing Iffy about my steps....
....In this day of loves bittersweet!

Back in the day of Rose coloured glasses
...Back in the day of the yellow
...Brick Road...
Back in the day when i could do no wrong, ha!
...Has been replaced by a heavier

I carry it with me upon my shoulders
...Broad and strong and tough
Remembering all of my yesterdays
...Recalling the situations i was in

Those dusty days and lanes are gone now
...Reality has bore her oft' ugly
And so i take softer and slower steps
...Remembering all the wrongs
...That i said...
For back in the days of yore
...Back in the days of
I was my very own worst enemy
...Always act before i would
And end up emotionally, and totally information poor

    Thad and Andy thank you!
Thad, you are correct, no one is perfect and we all make them. You are also right when you say is what counts is today! Boy did i learn, and learn the hard way!

I still believe the saying from the Bible from a very alive Jesus: ' Vegence is Mine'
Sayeth the Lord. This world is filled with way to much hate, and self hate is the worst...I am living one day at a time, and Andy, i do not want the Rose Colored glasses, as that is an altered eye sght...i am in the here and now. Thank you both, and may God be with you!
    Hugs, Theo

This is so sad, When you become so Disillusioned with life, all the magics gone and what's left but a empty shell, well that's my own version of hell... Theodora i hope you find your rose coloured glasses again... (Report) Reply
