Yesterday Door Shut: Or Window Into Tomorrow? Poem by Terence George Craddock

Yesterday Door Shut: Or Window Into Tomorrow?

yesterday remains a closed book
yesterday can be lost forgotten
left discarded in yesterday's dust
yesterday can be left lying on the floor;
or neatly shelved either in or out of order
yesterday tight shut but a pile of paper
yesterday left open may contain issues that haunt
or memories warm glowing that smile delight;

yesterday is a closed book
carries a sense of finality in reflection
turning a page in a life chapter;
accepting all that happened
yesterday is now time past behind us
taking first step in moving into tomorrow;

walking forth into all tomorrows waiting
yesterday haunting or yesterday delighting
realization that yesterday is a closed book
might be a decision to retreat into the past;
or commitment into an ordinary or life changing
decision future? is yesterday a closed door
a door left ajar or door left wide open?
yesterday is the road walked into today tomorrow;

which road right road wrong road intersection cross roads
choices even simple choices may create so many changes;
