You Cancelled Russia: Vladimir Putin (Italian Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

You Cancelled Russia: Vladimir Putin (Italian Sonnet)

When you invaded the sovereign Ukraine,
You Putting did Russia cancel: lifelong,
You do to a breed of demons belong.
To fathers, mothers and children you brought pain.

The war-crimes of your soldiers do remain,
You are far past weak though you act quite strong,
With you have a subordinated brainless throng?
Where all civil men do from you abstain,

Do contact with barbaric Russia break,
Where your culture cannot from holocaust safe.
Life cannot return, whatever you undertake,
and against you the Ukrainians are brave
while life is against nuclear attack at stake
and hollow is any promise that you make.
