You Feel Brave, But Than You Want To Chicken Out - Poem by mona martinez

that moment you get the courage,
and you say to yourself,
this is something that you have to do,
this is what you need,
to make your life better,
your mind start thinking,
of why you will be better,
if you keep your life the same,
scars on your body are proof,
that something not right,
and yet,
the fear of your world falling apart,
what what you fear most,
you tried so hard to make it seem,
like your life is okay,
that you start to believe it yourself,
sometimes you want to believe,
that it everybody else with the problem,
that it could never be you,
until things keep messing up,
you start to question,
if it you with the problem,
of why stuff in your life,
is not going right,
spending so much of your time,
trying to be perfect,
you forget that there is no such thing.
