You knew
This time would come
When I would have to leave you
Not by choice
Reaching journey's end.

I promised
Never to leave you
Now, I must break that promise
Death commands me
And I must go on without you.

You were the light of my life
And without you
I would have wandered alone
Your love gave purpose
With such joy, oh, such joy.
