You, Me And Humpty Poem by David Beckham

You, Me And Humpty

Rating: 4.5

You touched me differently
But why did you have to hurt me this way
I believed you
Felt there was something there between us
And then you pushed me off like I didn’t matter
Like a “hello, it is not going to work out” was too much
Left me guessing it must be me again
Filthy like a pig
Ugly like Betty
Canine like Jaws
Toes like Elf
Nails like Wolverine
Green in the face like an Ogre
Hairy like a monkey
Must be me again
I should have been your Knight in shining armor
But you treated me like I was your lottery ticket
Dinner on Monday
Movie on Tuesday
Prada on Wednesday
Chinese on Thursday
Vacation on Friday
Club VIP on Saturday
RedBox on Sunday
For me though
Love is a battlefield
And my experience with you
Left me...
Crushed like the Titanic
Dead in Spirit like Lost
Defeated in Battle like Sylar
Confused like Butterfly Effect
In a Dream like Inception
Robbed of Cash like Public Enemies
Stripped of Pride like a cheating athlete
And here I am
Picking up my pieces like Humpty Dumpty
Cos I am like a Gold fish
And my love has no place to hide

Fantastic poem. Wonderfully conceived. I liked it for its remarkable imagery and decent style. Rated it 10. TFS..... Kindly read and rate my poem 'Abortion' on page 4. Regards Akmal
