You'Re Not A Standard; I Just Have You On A Pedastol

Rating: 3.5
Paige has a new boyfriend:
from Iowa, a country boy.
Come to find/love a city girl
with a situation, not hard to comprehend.

Brief but undeniably insatiable-
love curtailed, is love indeed.
It has to survive under strained
conditions, when it's halted &

suffocating. His blue collar pride
and her loose cotton cool;

Always the twain will meet:
a breathy yes- -
a wooden smile;

small but distant,
now just non-existent;
excited/nervous/scared.
hurt, frustrated, vengeful.

He broke her down:
Effortlessly, charismatically.
Her grounded background
losing out to instability.

You have to command the scene.
Otherwise, you're nobody.
Was basically his tag-line.
Big shot, intimidator.

He had dignity, integrity, self-control
but zero patience. Null compassion.

That's where she came in. A man like a child
she dressed, eased his wounds, troubles.

& then she finally realized-
she didn't want to be treated
in the way that he treated her.

Which, is what he was afraid of.

This kind of relationship happens day in and day out, all over the world. You captured it beautifully. Easy 10.

really supporting on this, it make's more sense to those who are very ignorant of real love and their plans to love.Nice poem.You're creating a greater perception of three than two dimensions, very great job done, loving and the callous. Maxim Muyu.

Ok - i feel the need to address a few things. Love is what an individual makes it. Nobody loves the same. You can't really tell another person, how to love. Or, what the right way to love is. One has to figure that out on his/her own, and i believe it is a crucial component in a person's uniqueness. Is everyone capable of loving? Perchance not. Some ppl, are incapable of caring. They are so completely callous. While others, love too much. But there is no happy medium - who in their right - can decide that? ! ? ? love you gals, sjg

Cool poem and interesting view on love. Have to agree with what Adria says, love should be just being who you are (naturally) . Sounds like the country boy and the city girl didn't quite match up, though I do agree, love curtailed leaves that yearning/not knowing of what could have been... and that's the interesting part in all our matches. HG: -) xx
