'' You've Got To Believe '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' You've Got To Believe ''

I heard a wail,
Akin to a gale,
Yet the air was peaceful and calm,
I then turned pale,
Feeling so frail,
I heard them saying, embalm.

I could see and hear,
Yet didn't feel fear,
I had no idea where I was,
As they stood over me,
I looked for the key,
Their intrusion I just couldn't pause.

They were laughing away,
Like children at play,
Stripping me down to the bone,
I wanted to shout,
To get myself out,
Their behaviour I couldn't condone.

As they carried on,
I felt like a pawn,
Their efforts could not be constrained,
They placed a pin,
Deep within my skin,
I could see my blood being drained.

This was weird,
Yet I felt endeared,
I felt no sign of a frown,
A feeling of elation,
Followed by flotation,
I was above myself, yes, looking down.

I was feeling contrite,
When I saw a light,
I sensed a feeling of beckoning,
Someone said, it's your time,
I felt so sublime,
This was my day of reckoning.

Yes, it's true,
It can happen to you,
In passing there's no need to grieve,
I shouted, Goodbye,
Now I know you don't die,
In the afterlife,

‘' You've Got To, Believe ‘'

O my God so encaptivating afterlife. Even in saying goodbye to self....for we don't die just get transported to another world. Beautiful. Insightful. Thank-you.
