Your'E Getting Older Poem by Charles M Moore

Your'E Getting Older

Rating: 5.0

As the years go rolling by
and your age is getting high
do you often wonder why
you have a birthday

When you see your double chin
and your saggy looking skin
it's a worse state that your in
than on your first day

When your steps begin to falter
when you walk
And your teeth begin to wander
when you talk

Don't get into a rage
as life turns o'er the page
it's time to act your age
your'e getting older.

I enjoyed this very much. I do wish you hadn't mentioned my gait, but otherwise I found it pretty polite. Getting older is a privilege - sometimes denied to the young. Thanks for this. It made me smile.

Hello Charles! I don't worry about getting old as one of my friend commented about me (which I take as a compliment) 'I doubt that you'll ever be old, in spirit at least.' Good Poem. : -)

Outside, yes older. Inside a kid at heart! Patricia

I'm never going to act my age - like Peter Pan, I will stay young forever! Unfortunately, the body is not so forgiving. You're only as old as you think you are, so let's be kids to the end..................Linda
