Your New Springtime Poem by Bill Galvin

Your New Springtime

Your winter of discontent has passed,
And you have gone the way of the snows.

The weightiness of your body’s ills
Pressed heavily upon you,
And you are now released from discomfort.

Your Springtime now is a new one,
One that is experienced only once by each of us;
After all our seasons have folded, and unfolded,
And folded again, and run their course.

Your new Spring is like a welcome breath
Of fragrant new blossoms;
Like a deep draught of clean air for your spirit.

Your new Spring is ease from chill;
It is relief from aches and pains;
It is like perpetual warmth and sunshine,
With dark and dreary days left behind.

Your new Spring is a spiritual awakening,
Like a door opening to let in the first warm breezes,
And to drive out the winter staleness;
It is a transformation into a far better world.

And, to we who loved you, you will now always reside
Within the most beautiful bird song
On the most peaceful morning;
Within the colors of the most wondrous sunset;
Within the awesomeness of the most starlit sky;
Within the natural power and beauty
Of the most thunderous rain storm;
Within the most placid waters of the calmest lake
Reflecting the bluest of skies, with one puffy cloud;
Within the panorama of the most majestic landscape.

You will always be part of the rebirth
Of the most green of seasons;
You will be part of the most perfect summer day;
You will be the most select fruit
At the harvest of the most bounteous tree.

You will be a bright beacon to the most searching of souls;
You will be an inspiration for the most troubled of minds;
You’ll share the aura of our most spiritual selves;
You will remain the most adored essence
Of the most heartfelt stories and poems
To be passed on to following generations.

You will live within the hearts of those of us left behind.
