Your Strength (Snuggling) - Poem by Michael P. McParland
On this night as I lay here drifting lightly
in and out of sleep I dream of you the entire time
and long so much to snuggle and nuzzle burying
my face inside your shoulder hiding from the world
and to just feel closer to my lover feeling peace from you.
I'm still feeling scared from the things I told you
about the other day that I'm even sleeping with
my bedroom light on through the night,
and you know nothing in general ever gives me such a fright.
I want and need your strength to help me feel at peace
in a million different ways.
I crave to have you in my arms snuggling and kissing
all night and through the day.
I just want to snuggle with my only one and cure
both our lonely, aching longing hearts.
To feel you here beside me is the only thing I want.
Look into each others eyes as fist I hide my face
within your shoulder until I feel so safe,
then look into your eyes and say thank you babe
for all your comforting peace,
you truly are an Angel of light that can never be replaced.
Then as I stroke your hair and with a kiss as you lay your
head upon my chest we close our eyes smiling and
get some peaceful sleep finally knowing true rest.
I love you darling and your strength is the greatest thing there is
and I want to snuggle with you every night and day
in this life and through eternity,
you are my Angel Queen and everything.
