I took it all for granted,
But deep down in my heart,
I knew that one day,
It would be your time to go.
I thought you were invincible,
But as the years went on,
Your age started to show.
Where had the strong man gone?
The one who'd protected me,
Oh how the years rolled on.
And as i looked at you,
So frail upon your chair,
Our roles had reversed,
For I was the one,
Protecting you,
Always to be there.
You deserved every moment of my love,
I think of you now,
In heaven above,
Remembering the love,
You gave to me,
Sleep tight my loving Dad,
In my heart you'll always be.
