I once had friend, who was dear.
I think God sent her, perhaps for my cheer.
She helped me live through my toughest distress,
And helped me regain my happiness.
One night, we walked home,
All the way from downtown.
The amazing thing was, all this without frown,
For her stories of past, were many and funny,
I laughed so much, I thought oh my poor tummy.
Before we knew it, we had made it back,
My gosh that was awesome, that Thanksgiving Day trek.
Our daughters played so well together,
It tickled my heart, as if with a feather.
