Lost Little Girl

Walking down the hall of shadows
Dark shapes slinking at my heels
Every crunch and crack jumps at me
Every snip and snap alerts me
Mommy must be worried
Daddy must be furious
Wait…Didn’t the big bad wolf eat them too?
Past the cemetery where grandma died
Her spirit is haunting the chapel
The night will fall soon
And the bears and wolves
Will come out to hunt
The sound of gnarly teeth filled my ears
I dare not move, nor breathe
A wolf beside me whispers slowly
‘Lost little girl. Meet your death’
