My poetry is based on my own experience of growing up. Instead of talking in depth about my feelings and emotions I find it more rewarding and fulfilling to use written words as my therapy.

Although the words I write are personal, I feel that other people can relate to what I say and may take comfort in the the fact that there are others who are experiencing the same things. more »

Smile

Could it be I’m now happy?
Or is it just my own facade?
To tell the difference between the two
Is really getting hard.


Nothing at all has really changed me
And I’m less free than before
But has this been the making
Of a once so helpless bore?


One thing I truly notice
And puts a smile on my face
And that’s to know I have my friends
To keep me in this place.


So is the smile that I’m wearing
Of indeed true intent?
Or somewhat a disguise
Perfected through development?


For I hide behind a smile
