timely poem- not exactly accurate, i. e. towns were destroyed, but no cities, and, of course, everyone alive had to bear it-they had no choice.

Tsunami

When it hit,
A bottomless pit,
of agony and despair,
ate everyone whole,
through heart and soul,
one that no one could bare.

It destroyed the cities,
with crushing sounds,
it drowned the people,
and flooded the towns.

The whole world saw,
and now their sad,
for all the children,
without a mom and a dad.
