We Mustn'T Forget

 
My ears will not stop ringing.
The bombs explode, women and children
cry, and men fall. The ringing of metal
and bodies crashing into the earth fill my ears.
 
A new world
Freedom to be
Lady Liberty
 
My ears will not stop ringing.
I leave the front and return home
but still the ringing will not stop.
I close my eyes to sleep but hear
ringing, ringing, ringing
 
A new world
A chance to live dreams
The City
 
and now I dream of all those
who were killed, mangled, and mutilated
