But not our minds.
Nor our hearts
Where we can find

Here I lie,
Staring at the sky.
Wishing I could sprout wings
And go there.

As night comes to pass
over my home, my land,
I find myself here,
Alone I stand.

Wandering through my days,
I long for something else.
Be it love? Freedom?
Tis self-fulfillment
...
Lights flashing,
Swords clashing.
Blood pouring on the ground.
We fight for what’s left of the town.

With a troubled mind, I wander
the streets aimlessly,
Through my void,
I float along lazily.
...
How the f*ck did you get in my head?
What hid in those words you said?
Am I paranoid? Such uncertainty.
Am, I just your toy? Do you really love me?

A soul so pure
On this imperfect Earth
Found Heaven the cure
To escape the worst.

We do what we can
For you and each other.

David, you've obviously inherited your mothers talent with words so the only advice I offer is this. Write from the heart as you're doing now, but learn to edit from the head at same time. Self criticism is hard but rewarding. You're lucky to have a wonderfully talented mother, listen to her, learn from her, above all love her with all your heart...
