Sake Of Writing
The days of peno and paper long gone
Typo conquered them all
Little did they know the Compo’s advent
With an agenda to make things better
But for us scribblers, does it really matter?
Words of power rounding about
Rarely a Halo above I see
Occupied and yet shallow, words fly
I see their wings, once I drew
Amongst the many things I threw
Flying high up above
Untying the knots made beneath
Free and carefree as they can be
With sparrows as their company.
Amazed at their plight, I stand
Jealous on their achievement
I tread their path holding...
