The White-Coated Judge

As I remember
The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen
The woman deep in thought
Sitting on the boulder
That was about to roll down a mountain

The white-coated judge came out
To speak to me
I sat waiting for this messenger
But he only had questions
Not answers

He said “Son, it’s time
For you to tell the truth”
And I couldn’t hear
I was watching myself sit there
From ten feet away

Silence is golden
But my silence presumed guilt
I watched myself
Stare at the ground
Too shocked to say a word

But it didn’t matter ...
