Stopped within a pool of light
From a gibbous moon that shone
A young man sat astride his bike
Frightened to go on
Below him stretched Haresfinch Brow
And beyond was Merton Bank
A place of fear and evil
Petrified and rank
His blood ran cold, within his veins
Uncertain what to do
To cross the bank, or go around
Could he make it through?
The Bank in daylight posed no threat
And people wandered on
But no one ever took the road
Once twilight’s glow had gone
He steeled himself and thought that if
He shot down Haresfinch Brow
And gathered up ...
