The Existence Of A Tree

I’m a beautiful thing to see
But not so fun to be
God didn’t let me talk
And I was cursed not to walk

So I crawled upward slowly toward the sunlight
I stood there shimmering in moonlight
In fall you saw my leaves deviate
But in spring again they regenerate

I gave breath to mankind
They weren’t as kind
I grew fruits and seeds
And fulfilled mans basic needs

Even in my generosity
I still see
man below me with a axe, I try but cannot flee
I lay here wondering, what has happened to me?
