The Sixteenth Of The Fourth

The sun sets on a darkened day
The doubtful leave, the mourners stay
The fall of innocence dripping from the morgue.
With gunshots ringing in their ears
Given this new type of fear
Always remember sixteenth of the fourth.
With offset minds and shattered hearts
A widow left to fall apart
Shots that rang out louldy just to break them down.
When orange and maroon turn red
And so many lives are left for dead
It seems there's no light left that can be found.
They woke up casual and calm
No one could ever be so wrong
