Passing hours in the dark The soul whispers to the mind Today then torn apart By dreams that dawn cannot find From the shadows of my room I walk through the desert of before Blistering heat melts the lies Tracing scrolls through fiery skies Reading through the years Truth burns hot in my chest I beg through the tears Return me to what I know best Welling up beneath my feet The floods begin to roll Unclothed and alone I swim the cool waters of my soul Sinking in to my own deep Falling away from the sun Slowly, I awake from sleep Yesterday’s truths undone
