I have just been dealt an almighty blow;
A great stinging.
A wounded bear I trudge off into the snow
finding peace beside a steaming river,
all around it is a frost like sheet
as it carves its way oh so gently so
it ceases to carve but caresses the snowy banks.
Above the spire of a peak worships
A hollow whispering cold goes all about
Like some ancient cry for help; pain in its voice.

They, the mountains seem so promising yet give nothing.
Nothing but this aching empty soul.

I don’t care if I freeze out here
