Lloyd Stone (June 29, 1912 – March 9, 1993) was an American poet who wrote the first two stanzas of the 1934 hymn This is My Song using the Finlandia Hymn melody composed by Jean Sibelius.

He also wrote several poems about Hawaii. more »

    Please note, the words of This is My Song, as well as the melody, are Finnish - Sibelius would have known the famous work of his female compatriot who wrote the poem - that so inspired Lloyd Stone.
